Review 2025.03.003
Reviewers Note: It is the beginning of 2025 and one of the skills I desire to grow in is that of writing book reviews (having never done this before). I am doing this so I can better hone my writing (and reading) skills as I seek to think more critically about the books I am reading. I am sharing on Goodreads for my own personal development. I know this will be something I am always growing in so if you actually read these, please be patient with me as I develop this skill. I will also receive constructive criticism if you desire to help me become a better writer (and reader). I plan to use this disclaimer for the entire 2025 year.

The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson) by Rick Riordan
361 Pages
I am behind on my review writing. Not that it matters to you. Can I just say “Like it!” and be done? Yes, I suppose you are correct. That does defeat the purpose of challenging myself to write book reviews this year.
This was a good book. I have continued to enjoy the character development over the four books. And the Percy and Annabeth relationship has been the most fun to watch develop. It is very much like real life in the complete absurdity of human behavior, minus the demi-god part, of course.
The labyrinth adventure is definitely my favorite so far. I loved that time proceeded at different speeds based on whether they were in the labyrinth or out of it. The solution to finding their way through the labyrinth was also entertaining.
I was engaged the entire time I read the book and would recommend it but only if you have read the other three. Why would you start with book four anyway?
