Review 2025.05.005
Reviewers Note: It is the beginning of 2025 and one of the skills I desire to grow in is that of writing book reviews (having never done this before). I am doing this so I can better hone my writing (and reading) skills as I seek to think more critically about the books I am reading. I am sharing on Goodreads for my own personal development. I know this will be something I am always growing in so if you actually read these, please be patient with me as I develop this skill. I will also receive constructive criticism if you desire to help me become a better writer (and reader). I plan to use this disclaimer for the entire 2025 year.
Co-Intelligence by Ethan Mollick
243 Pages
A month or two back, I purchased three books on AI and this was the second one I read. I really enjoyed this book. I had already read a few blogs that were along the same lines as this book. His main point is that we need to use AI in a way that enhances our own intelligence. Humans and AI are better together, thus the title “Co-Intelligence”.
I did not get a lot of specific advice from the book. I do not think that is the author’s fault. He actually discusses that very problem and voices that the speed at which changes are happening in this field prevented him from this. There was a lot of practical (general) advice most of which I had read on blogs so the same information can be acquired for free elsewhere (but isn’t that usually the case?).
This book did not feel like a waste of time but my recommendation to read it would be limited and time sensitive meaning that in a few years (maybe even months) it will be a waste of time, at least in my opinion.
