We Should Like To Do

I was reading an article from Entrepreneur.com last week (one of my favorite non-Christian sites to read). This article discussed goals and the sacrifice it takes to achieve them. I wrote that note on some paper. I also started the book Counter Culture and have been convicted about things in my life. I read that note in a unexpected way. My goal as one of the elect is to glorify God with my life and to share the good news of Jesus Christ to all the nations. What sacrifice is required of me to be used by God to achieve this goal?

“I do not believe one can settle how much we ought to give. I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more than we can spare. In other words, if our expenditure on comforts, luxuries, amusements, etc., is up to the standard common among those with the same income as our own, we are probably giving away too little. If our charities do not at all pinch or hamper us, I should say they are too small. There ought to be things we should like to do and cannot do because our charities expenditure excludes them.” –C.S. Lewis

What sacrifice indeed?
