So we don’t have musical instruments in our church because we look at the example of the first church. I can understand that.
Shortly after that statement I ask if we should look for a church who has other attributes of the first church. I was specifically interested in Acts 2:44-45.
All who believed were together and held everything in common, and they began selling their property and possessions and distributing the proceeds to everyone, as anyone had need. Acts 2:44-45
No, we don’t look at that as an attribute because they were just helping each other in a famine. Umm, OK. So all the other examples of the churches from far away sending relief to the church in Jerusalem are also not good examples. It is probably because there are no Christians anywhere in the world starving to death…
Oh wait there are people starving to death. What is it like 20,000 kids per day die of starvation and preventable disease? Those are just the kids. Oh that’s right none of them are Christians because they have not been baptized correctly. Not that you would send anyone over to teach them about the Bible or be baptized. But what about the adults dying…the ones getting their heads chopped off for being Christians. They died for Christ, sure, but since they did not get baptized correctly they are out.
But Jeshurun became fat and kicked, you got fat, thick, and stuffed! Deuteronomy 32:15
Yes, I determine what “correctly” was based upon my superior intellect. So yes, I will select this to be true and damn those musical instruments and their listeners to hell. And yes, I will damn others to hell by allowing them to starve to death before the hundreds, no thousands of missionaries I support are sent to teach them about Jesus and His saving baptismal waters.
Oh wait, I’m sorry by His saving grace…
