The Flesh Is Weak

You are not as bad as Hitler so you must be going to heaven.  Of course we know this is not true because one sin is infinitely offensive to a holy God.  Thus our need for a savior – the savior, Jesus Christ.  So what about the statement “you do more than most people do”?  If you cannot compare yourself to others with regards to sin then surely you cannot compare yourself to others with regards to works.  So because I know that I can do more with the talents God has given me, would it not stand to reason that I am like the slave that buried his talent in the ground?  Is this not what I am doing?  Would it not stand to reason that like that slave I will be thrown into the darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth?

Matthew 26:41 – “Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

I know you will say His grace is sufficient and this I cannot deny.  I still continue to ask myself these tough questions.  We should probably all ask ourselves these questions.
