I have been thinking about praying the Bible quite a bit. I have had verses that remind me of people at which point I pray for them. I have verses that when I read bring to mind things to pray for. And this is basically what they mean when they say pray the Bible.
One of the ideas from this past weekend was the Psalm a day. You will select one psalm from among five. There is a system for the five to select from but I don’t want to go into that. So on November 30 I selected Psalm 30
O LORD my God, I cried out to you and you healed me. –Psalm 30:2
I nearly lost it when I read that. I initially only read the first part up to the point where “I cried out to you” which is what I had done that morning. I was calling on the name of Jesus. A battle I did not want to fight was on me and I was desperate for His help. I was thanking him when the rest of the verse was found.
I love those moments of true praise for God.
