It seems one of the quickest ways to show someone love is to jump into the mess of their life. I say this knowing that this really isn’t as simple as it sounds.
I am not talking about jumping in and being obtuse and obtrusive. It is a delicate situation but one we as followers of Christ must take. This does not come natural to me. I want to leave people alone. They can take care of themselves. They don’t need my help. Then the selfish questions arise. Who helped me? Who encouraged me? Of course I don’t ask the question: Would I have accepted help?
This also does not mean we do the work for them. Each person is responsible to carry his own load (Galatians 6:6) but we do help them carry their burden (Galatians 6:2).
Galatians 6:9 – So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up.
We reap in due time. God knows. God sustains. God grows (1 Corinthians 3:7).
