Not Worthy of Them

Hebrews 11:37-38 – They were stoned, sawed apart, murdered with the sword; they went about in sheepskins and goatskins; they were destitute, afflicted, ill-treated (the world was not worthy of them); they wandered in deserts and mountains and caves and openings in the earth.

I read an article last week that referenced those verses. I read them a few times while waiting on my daughter at dance. As we drove home she asked me how I was and I told her I was Hebrews 11:37-38. She read those verses out loud and then asked what I meant by that. The only idea in my mind was – will my life be counted the same? Will the world not be worthy of my faith in Christ? Am I truly aspiring to a better land, a heavenly one, like those of faith in Hebrews 11? Where is my desperate dependence on God? What about your life? Is the world not worthy of your faith in Christ?
