The Apostle Paul wrote the following scriptures.
Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.
2 Corinthians 11:28 – Apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxious concern for all the churches.
I hear the first one all the time – do not be anxious. But rarely, if ever, do I hear the second. I was emailing back and forth with someone this past week and this verse came into my head as I was driving back from a client. I know she was anxiously awaiting my reply about being anxious because of people I pray for in my life. God just gave the verse to me out of abyss of the mind.
There are many things I am thankful for. Actually pretty much everything I have because it came from Him but I am very thankful for is the mind God gave me. As I was writing in my journal this past week I wrote something along the lines of being content with who I am because God made me that way. Not contentment in a “do not try to strive towards knowing God more” way of course.
So I guess we should get to the question at hand. Is the Apostle Paul telling us to do as he says and not as he does? I do not believe that to be the case but I would love to hear from any of the three people who read this blog. 🙂
