Jesus Could Have Said…

This blew me away.
What does Jesus tell the rich young man in all three versions of the story (Matthew 19:16; Mark 10:17; Luke 18:18)? “Go, sell all that you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; and come follow me.” Jesus specifically directs the young man to use the market to unload his possessions. Most strikingly, Jesus could have said, but did not say, “Go, give all of your possessions to the poor.” What is the difference? To an economist there is all the difference in the world.
