This morning as I read 1 John I got questions in my mind.
1 John 1:6 – If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.
Can a Christian live in unrepentant sin forever? What amount of time can they knowingly do this and still be saved? Will not the Spirit convict them if they have the Spirit within them? Are people who live like this really Christians at all?
1 John 3:8 – The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed: to destroy the works of the devil.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil so why do you still live in sin? I can’t break free. The flesh has a stronghold deep inside my soul.
1 John 4:4 – You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
