If you are filled with an agony for them. I see so little of this agony for the lost in the church. It makes my soul ache and the pain is intense because it looks like death everywhere. Where is the life Christ promised His bride? Do we have this life? Are you filled with agony for the lost? Please sit and think about eternity for a moment. Please look at your lost coworker and see them burning in hell. I pleaded with you to look to Jesus and you scoffed at the very idea. And it was not the first time. I question your salvation because I see no fruit. I question your salvation because I see no agony. I question your salvation because I see no works of grace. Just death…no life.
“The Holy Spirit will move them by first moving you. If you can rest without their being saved, they will rest, too. But if you are filled with an agony for them, if you cannot bear that they should be lost, you will soon find that they are uneasy, too.”
–Spurgeon
Church, we are no longer dead in our transgressions! Christ has made us alive with His grace. And this grace has set us free. Agonize over the lost. Agonize over the church, the bride of Jesus Christ. Plead desperately for our very souls to be awakened. Plead desperately for God to pour out His Spirit. I cannot bear the people in this world being lost to an eternity in hell. I cannot bear the church not being the light that actually draws lost sinners to God’s love. Please dear Lord show the world Your grace, majesty, awe, and might. If you are filled with an agony then share it. I am desperate for You Lord. Simply desperate…
“A man who is really saved by grace does not need to be told that he is under solemn obligations to serve Christ. The new life within him tells him that. Instead of regarding it as a burden, he gladly surrenders himself—body, soul, and spirit—to the Lord.”
