I was watching a video from a leadership conference recently and near the end one of the people said “It is time for a grander vision.” A few minutes later I had to go back to the video to write that down.
The next day I had to find my note to remember. For the past few days, I have been starting at those words and asking “What does that mean?” I tried to put it on the white board but I did not get far. I put it on scratch paper along with random notes and numbers. But I keep going back to “What does that mean?”
A grander vision of life? Ministry? Business? Everything? What am I supposed to make grander?
Of course if you leave out the word “vision”, I could answer the reworded question – make much of the glory of God. This of course does not answer the real question about a grander vision. I put on my white board that after I answered the question “What does that mean?”, I needed to answer the question “How?”.
Of course we limit ourselves significantly. I think about all the idle time in my life and shake my head in disgust. Putting that aside, how do we get to the point where we stop limiting ourselves? How do we get to the point where we have a grander vision and whatever that actually entails? Once we have this grander vision, how do we make sure we are taking steps towards this grander vision?
A grander vision…
